Birchbox Inspiration!

This week (I was a little late on checking my mail) I received my Teen Vogue Birchbox! I got some amazing essie Luxeffects nail polish and I was inspired! I decided to combine the silver sparkles with my China Glaze mint color polish for a cool and unique nail look. Check it out:

For some reason this look totally reminds me of a Prom dress or Cinderella...IDK I just think it ended up pretty awesome. I'm not a huge nail painter so this was quite creative for me :) Well, my next look I think I will try a nude polish with black sparkly tips.

Accessory of the day! Monday!

One of my recent obsessions, my feather necklace is the perfect addition to any outfit. Dress it up or down, it's perfect with a simple tee and jeans or a high waist skirt and sweater! I have always been a fan of anything turquoise or feather related so this fits my style perfectly. I think the best part about this necklace is the gold chain and the detailing. The little rhinestones add a perfect sparkle to the necklace. So yes, I am obsessed :) What accessories are you currently loving?

IMATS LA 2011!

OK OK I know this is a little bit delayed....BUT, it's worth it I swear. IMATS otherwise known as the International Makeup Artist Trade Show was AMAZING! This was Sigma's first year at the show and we had a blast. We got to interact with our customers, fans and favorite YouTube gurus and makeup artists. Spring 2011 is almost here! Now that we have sprung ahead and the weather is warming up, it's time to start looking the part. This year, there are 5 major makeup trends that everyone should try and conquer! Check them out here!

Summer Staple: Sexy Nails!

The China Glaze color that I will be featuring today is Recycle. This color is an anything goes type of color. You can wear it with everything because it is so neutral, yet it can still be unexpected. Erin (follow her on Twitter @Erin_Sigma) chose this as her nail color this week and she is loving it! It looks especially amazing with her beautiful ring! ;)

See! I think this color is so versatile and that is why I love it so much! You can dress it up or down, wear it every day or for special occasions. It also goes SO well with one of Annie's favorite fashion trends of summer... NAUTICAL! She loves nautical everything and Recycle would be a perfect addition to the navy blue, red and gold nautical trends. Summer Staple: Sexy Nails!

Who doesn't love hot nails!? Well here at Sigma we do, and in the next few posts I will be showing off some fun, colorful nail polish, perfect for hot summer days and rainy days too! These polishes are from China Glaze, who was kind enough to send us some samples here at Sigma Makeup. And let me tell you...we are all LOVING them! We have been painting our nails over lunch break...honestly, it now smells like a nail salon in here!

Ok, the first color I would like to feature is Re-Fresh Mint. I am excited about this color! It reminds me of when I was little and would ride my bike up to the Whippy Dip near my house. I always got the Creme de Mint milkshake, mmm so good! Anyways, this color is like dipping your nails into a Creme de Mint milkshake. It's unique, unexpected and is a fun way to perk up your summer look. I chose this color for my nails today because it is gloomy and rainy here in MN and I felt like a pop of brightness would make the weather more tolerable!

It's all about accessories in this post and this season! I am loving big, bold statement pieces that really pull an outfit together. Here you can see my personal accessory collection as well as some of my favorite pieces for this Spring/Summer! ENJOY!

So, now that you have seen a glimpse of my massive amount of accessories, I would love to share with you my favorites of the season. Every one who knows me, is aware of my freakish obsession for turquoise. I LOVE IT! I have always loved the color and any accessory that incorporates it. I think it all started with my first trip to the Southwest and has progressed into something that I cannot control, nor want to! 

With that in mind, here are a few of my favorite pieces that incorporate turquoise in my collection!

Now, finally what you have all been waiting for....my favorite accessory of the moment! Drum roll please......

I don't even think it is truly necessary to explain why I am in love with this ring. It is perfect! Coral is such an amazing color right now and the gold accents are so adorable. I got this ring in Florida at an accessory store (probably one of my most favorite stores) and I have hardly taken it off since I left the store. It's so fun and can totally change the attitude of any outfit or look.

Tara's Mini Fashion Week

Day 3: Party Like A Rock...Party Like A Rock Star!

It's the weekend and today's look is totally killer! Be ready for anything the night can bring in this rock star look. Jeans and a t-shirt have always been a rock star staple, but I kick it up a notch with metallic and metal. Today, being a rock star is easy, I paired a skinny jean with a black v-neck t-shirt with purple metallic details (actually a tiger face if you look close up) and rocked the look out with metallic heels that are sky-high! Don't be afraid to reach new levels of rock-star-ness by wearing your most outrageously high, high-heels. This will just add to your greatness and maybe even score you a backstage pass!

For accessories, go all out! Here I am wearing 5 random bangles that I pulled out of my drawer, and a metal ring. Mix and match because anything goes with a basic t-shirt and jeans combo. On chilly nights, wear a little leather jacket, don't worry if you're mixing neutrals (example, brown and black like I did) because that totally works!

Now, to totally look the part, you really have to get that rock star makeup look. Smokey eyes are a MUST and it is super easy to do. My makeup is all from the Sigma Makeup Smokey Eyes Kit (http://sigmamakeup.com/products/7022.html). This kit gives you all the colors you need to get this look and there is even a tutorial on the site to help you smoke out your eyes! Since I wanted to focus the attention on my dark, Smokey eye, I kept the rest of my face fairly neutral, just a little bronzer and highlighter and a neutral lip gloss.

I love wearing a poof with long, straight hair. I think this style is very versatile and it definitely shows off the eyes. Everybody is different when it comes to their poof, but don't be afraid to pump up the volume! Think '80's band big!
